Twigs: <\/strong>This plant has simple, shiny, dark green leaves which are oval in shape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flowers &amp; Fruits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-left:5%; overflow:hidden;\">\n<li>Pink-and-white, trumpet-shaped flowers form small clusters and have a spicy fragrance.<\/li>\n<li>The plant does not set seed every year, so it spreads very slowly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Habitat: <\/strong>Mayflower is most common in rocky pastures, barren lands and grassy areas where the soil is acidic and well drained.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PlantWatch Pointers: <\/strong>Select a typical patch of plants, if the plants are very abundant, mark off a l-metre-square section to observe.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>To Observe:<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First bloom: when the first flowers are open in the observed plants.<\/li>\n<li>Mid bloom: when 50% of the flowers are open in the observed plants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Distribution Map:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.naturewatch.ca\/plantwatch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/09\/epigaea_repens_map.jpg\" alt=\"Distribution Map\" width=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p> <strong>This species is monitored in:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nova Scotia<\/li>\n<li>Ontario<\/li>\n<li>Quebec<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote style=\"margin: 2% 5%;
