Sampling Method 3 - Modified Hand Sorting

Materials
  • sampling template 25 cm by 50 cm
  • a spade or shovel (a square faced spade is ideal)
  • three empty plastic margarine or yogurt containers with lids
  • plastic sheet or large, green garbage bags
  • pencil
  • metre stick
  • labels
  • soil thermometer (optional)
  • GPS (optional)
  • compass and map (optional)
