COMPOSITION

The bryoflora of the montane Cordillera ecozone is comprised of 649 species in 234 genera and 77 families. Of these, the mosses contain 518 species in 166 genera and 45 families, the liverworts contain 130 species in 57 genera and 31 families, and the hornworts are represented by a single species of Anthoceros in the family Anthocerotaceae. This represents approximately 67% of the known bryoflora of the province.
